We are the Bulldogs, and the Bulldogs are GREAT!

The students of South Glens Falls High School hosted the 31st Annual South High Marathon Dance in the South Glens Falls High School Gym on February 29- March 1st. In 2008 the students, and the community that supports them, raised $245,141, bringing our grand total, over 30 years, to more than $1.87 million!

Interesting facts about the dance:

• The dance has donated money to 94 causes and individuals in the last 30 years
• This year, students have decided to contribute to 16 people and charities
• In 2007 the SHMD Travel Team helped kick off the 1st Annual DRMD in Richmond, VA
• Only twice in the dance's history has the previous year's total not been broken ('81 & '84)
• A committee of students plans the dance
• The first dance involved about 50 dancers. In 2008, more than 700 students have signed up to participate
• More than half of the school's population participates in the dance
